A funeral is being held today in Ho-Ho-Kus for Chris Goodell, a 32 year old Waldwick police officer killed last week.
Goodell was on the side of Route 17 looking for speeders, when a tractor trailer rear-ended his unmarked police car.
Goodell was a 5 year veteran of the department, a former marine and was engaged to be married.
Governor Chris Christie has ordered flags at state buildings to be flown at half-staff today. Christie is also expected to attend today's funeral.
The truck driver has pleaded not guilty to vehicular homicide.
Goodell is the first Waldwick police officer to die in the line of duty.
