Judge Declares Mistrial in Malcolm Smith Corruption Case

Senator Malcolm Smith received a break today in regards to his trial where he is facing charges of corruption.

In the trial, Senator Malcolm Smith, Vincent Tabone and Daniel Halloran are being accused of bribing for Republican party leaders to let Smith, who is a Democrat, run as a Republican to be mayor of New York City.

There reason for mistrial, declared by Federal judge Kenneth Karas, is that there are not enough jurors to serve all three defendants.

While Halloran's trial will continue, Smith and Tabone's trial dates have been moved jack to January 5th, 2015.
