Nevada hail from Asheville, NC, where local singer/songwriters Sean Robbins, Kevin Stanford, and Vickie Burick first convened in the summer of 2003 to combine their shared influences of Neil Young, Fleetwood Mac, the Byrds, and Galaxie 500. Drummer Rich Shore and bassist Hunter Kalman (later replaced by Jon Paul Hess) soon climbed aboard, and the band began fashioning a mix of shoegaze, alt-country, and psychedelic pop.
