A Portland, OR based band, the uniquely named House of Badger brought together disparate styles in a manner that resulted in positive press coverage and some highly acclaimed live shows. Their debut, 2008's Death Birds, was a trippy blend of psychedelia, post-punk, and American underground melding the spirits of Jefferson Airplane, Siouxsie, and Fugazi with relative ease. The band -- Amanda Kelly (vocals, guitars, and other instruments), Charlie Gallipeau (bass, vocals, assorted keyboards), and Liam McNamara (drums, percussion) -- released the aforementioned debut on their own label.
