Singer/songwriter Deanna Devore was born in Toronto, Ontario, before moving to Chicago. Working with producer Bjorn Thorsrud (Smashing Pumpkins, Dandy Warhols), she recorded a self-titled, self-released seven-track EP in 2007 on which she played all the instruments except drums (which were handled by Matt Walker and Ed Breckenfeld). Following its release, she put together a backup band consisting of Dan Moulder on keyboards, Jody Miller on bass, and Shawn Rios on drums for performances in and around Chicago. ~ William Ruhlmann, Rovi
