Biography
Joey + Rory, a country music duo made up of husband and wife singers Rory Lee Feek and Joey Martin Feek, only really began singing in public together when they appeared on CMT's #Can You Duet television series in 2008. The duo finished third, but won the hearts of thousands of viewers, providing a career springboard. Kansas-born Rory Feek originally hit Nashville in 1995, hoping to hawk his songs. A meeting with legendary songwriter Harlan Howard resulted in a publishing deal with Howard, and Feek was his lone staff writer through 2000, when he moved over to Clint Black's Blacktop Music, leaving there in 2004 to start Giantslayer Publishing with songwriting partner Tim Johnson. Joey Feek was born in Alexandria, IN, and made her first public singing appearance at the age of six when she sang Dolly Parton's "Coat of Many Colors" at a first grade talent show, and she's been singing ever since.
