Demolition Doll Rods made a name for themselves playing stripped-down rock -- literally. The trashy trio, which plays unpretentious lo-fi garage rock, also likes to play wearing next to nothing. And find new ways to shock with lurid lyrics. The Detroit band formed in the early '90s and eventually signed to indie haven Matador Records; over the years, they opened for the likes of Iggy Pop, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, and the Cramps. Legend has it that siblings Margaret Doll Rod (vocals, guitar) and Christine Doll Rod (drums) met Danny Doll Rod (guitar, vocals) at Catholic school and ran away together.
