Mexican indie rock foursome Volován emerged after singer/guitarist Chalo Galván and keyboardist Jorge Nájera met in a wedding party at their native Monterrey. Soon, drummer Gerardo Galván and bassist Alejandro Gulmar joined in. Joe Robinson, Andy Chase, and Plastilina Mosh's Alejandro Rosso produced their late-'70s American punk- and pop-inflected self-titled debut album, featuring the hit singles "Ella Es Azul" and "Flor Primaveral." Monitor followed in 2007.
