More about Jason Derulo. 		Jason Derulo took the stage at Long Beach High School on June 14 to perform a private mini concert for the students as their prize for acquiring the most pledges during the Verizon Wireless Please Don't Text and Drive campaign.

The Pledge
"I pledge to not text while driving. I also promise to avoid using my cell phone at all times while operating a vehicle, for both my safety and for everyone I share the road with. I'll also encourage my friends and family to do the same."
The Facts
  • Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for teenagers, killing 11 teens each day.
  • Drivers under 20 have the highest proportion of distraction-related fatal crashes.
  • Texting while driving is as impairing as drinking four beers.
