When Jennifer Lopez parted ways with the giant ICM talent agency in Hollywood last month, there were rumors her agents had "fired" her as a client because she was difficult to get along with and often impossible to communicate with on a timely basis. Others say that it was Lopez who left her agents, because she was unhappy with the career direction that they had been providing.
Now, however, Lopez has landed with a new group of agents at the Endeavor Agency, which happens to be the same outfit that represents her boy pal and co-star Ben Affleck, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She continues with her longtime manager Benny Medina and her attorney Barry Hirsch as well.
"We are thrilled to be working with Jennifer Lopez," the Endeavor partners said in a joint statement. "Jennifer is recognized as one of today's leading talents of film and music."
An agent typically gets 10 percent of the performer's gross income, although some big stars are able to negotiate a lower fee (which may be the case here). Lopez is an especially valuable client because she crosses over from film to music, which means she is working and generating commissions a lot more of the time than a star who does only one or two movies a year.
Currently Lopez is awaiting the release of her movie "Maid In Manhattan" and her new album "This Is Me...Then." The album is due Nov. 26, although it is not completely clear if it is finished. Earlier this week Lopez showed up in a recording studio in Philadelphia, where she has been staying with Affleck while they are making "Jersey Girl" for director and friend Kevin Smith.
The studio session was booked by Lopez's record company, Sony, at the last minute, and under someone else's name, according to the web site Launch.com. It is unclear what Lopez was recording, but Launch.com speculates she may still be doing remixes on the upcoming album. The lead single on the new recording is "Jenny From The Block."
